Purpose of Council Meetings
Council meetings are where the Parish Council makes and ratifies decisions on parish matters, receives updates from our Surrey County Council (SCC) and Guildford Borough Council (GBC) councillors, and identifies issues requiring future consideration. Detailed discussion of specific topics takes place in committee meetings.
What Happens at Meetings
- Public Session (20 minutes max) – Parishioners can ask questions and bring local issues to the Council's attention.
- Councillor Reports – SCC & GBC Councillors provide updates (either written or verbal) & the Council (on behalf of parishioners) an opportunity to raise borough and county-level issues with them.
- Council Business – The Council makes decisions, receives committee recommendations, and sets the agenda for future work.
Committees
